all solos are a concentrate of ideas, phrases, melody development … a spectacular phrasing that leads you to acquire greater awareness in moving on the chord changes.

Lorenzo Ferrero’s “Jazz Etudes Over Typical Cadences” is nothing short of a fantastic way for jazz players to expand their bebop/jazz vocabulary and technique, regardless of their level. As a guitar player myself, I found that not only did the studies include a wide a range of beautiful language, but that the same language was easily applicable to guitar. Overall, the book is a fantastic addition to any jazz player’s toolbox

These exercises are extremely helpful!! I’ve been able to gain more technique and I’ve gained a lot of new harmonic vocabulary that I can now use on my solos!
