Multiple Grammy award winner and Peruvian-born saxophone virtuoso Lorenzo Ferrero performing my sax soli interpretation of his jazz etude. Lorenzo’s solo etudes are inspiring in their construction and musicality. After watching his solo alto sax performance of this etude on his YouTube channel (link below), I knew I had to expand it into a soli. I sent the parts, without warning, to Lorenzo with out any expectation. Once week later he emailed me back with all of the parts recorded , along with videos of the performances. While it was Lorenzo’s idea to put the sheet music on-screen, I decided to film myself flipping the pages rather than using a screen capture of Sibelius. I find the resulting video both amazing and charming.
